TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Siswa SMA/MA Kelas 12 saat ini mempelajari Unit 1 pada buku Bahasa Inggris Life Today Kurikulum Merdeka berjudul “Narrative Text: The Story of a Friendly Future”.
Buku yang disusun oleh Susanti Retno Hardini dkk dan diterbitkan Kemdikbudristek (2022) ini dirancang untuk membekali siswa dengan pemahaman komprehensif tentang teks naratif.
Materi dalam unit ini mencakup pengenalan struktur dan tujuan komunikatif teks naratif, ciri kebahasaan seperti penggunaan past tense dan action verbs, hingga keterampilan memahami informasi eksplisit maupun implisit, menemukan ide pokok, serta menulis dan menceritakan ulang teks secara runtut sesuai kaidah bahasa.
Pada halaman 38–54, siswa mengerjakan rangkaian latihan keterampilan yang mencakup Assessment, Reading, Enrichment, dan Reflection.
Kegiatan ini menuntun siswa memahami kisah inspiratif, seperti perjuangan Kilion menerangi desanya dengan PLTS dan William yang membangun kincir angin untuk melawan kelaparan.
Penting dicatat, sebelum melihat kunci jawaban, siswa diharapkan mengerjakan soal secara mandiri.
