TRIBUNNEWS.COM - Siswa kelas XII SMA/MA saat ini sedang mempelajari Unit 2 dari buku Bahasa Inggris Life Today yang disusun oleh Susanti Retno Hardini dkk. dan diterbitkan oleh Kemdikbudristek (2022).

Buku ini dirancang untuk memberikan pemahaman komprehensif mengenai teks naratif dan argumentatif dalam konteks kehidupan modern.

Siswa mengerjakan serangkaian latihan keterampilan mendengarkan (Listening) melalui Activity 1 hingga Activity 5.

Latihan ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat pemahaman terhadap isi dan struktur teks argumentatif secara audio.

Pada Unit 2 yang berjudul Argumentative Text: E-Money, siswa diajak untuk memahami secara mendalam bagaimana teks argumentatif dibentuk dan digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Melalui berbagai aktivitas pembelajaran, mereka belajar mengenali tujuan komunikatif dan struktur khas dari teks argumentatif, serta memahami ekspresi bahasa yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan dan menanggapi pendapat.

Siswa juga dilatih untuk menggali informasi eksplisit maupun implisit dari teks yang dibaca atau didengar, sehingga mampu menangkap gagasan utama dan detail penting secara kritis.

Tak hanya itu, mereka diberi kesempatan untuk menulis teks argumentatif sendiri dengan struktur dan gaya bahasa yang sesuai, serta menyajikannya melalui media pilihan yang kreatif dan komunikatif.

Dengan pendekatan ini, Unit 2 tidak hanya membekali siswa dengan keterampilan berbahasa Inggris, tetapi juga mendorong mereka untuk berpikir logis, menyampaikan pendapat secara efektif, dan menjadi komunikator yang percaya diri di era digital.

Catatan Penting: Sebelum melihat kunci jawaban, siswa sangat dianjurkan untuk mengerjakan soal secara mandiri agar proses belajar lebih efektif dan eflektif.

In pairs, discuss and answer the
questions

1. Explain what is happening in the two pictures.

2. Do you prefer to use cash or electronic money for purchasing? Why?

Answers:

Second picture (bottom): A man is making a purchase using electronic money by scanning a QR code with his smartphone. 2. I prefer to use electronic money for purchasing because:
